To bring hope to the Triangle and the Nations as we proclaim and embody the good news of Jesus.
The hope of the gospel is what we long to see impact our world.
East Durham is in the heart of the Triangle region – the community we are called to.
We long to see a multi-ethnic movement of hope in Jesus as we welcome the Nations in the Triangle and send the Triangle to the Nations.
We not only preach the good news of Jesus; we seek to apply it to all of life and society as we join Jesus in his work of making all things new.
The gospel is at the center of who we are and all that we do.
Waypoint Church (our sending church) was planted out of the Summit Collaborative church planting network in 2014 with a vision to reach the Triangle and the Nations. Part of that vision was to eventually multiply the gospel work that was started at Waypoint and plant another church somewhere in the Triangle.
Peter Frey joined the staff of Waypoint in 2023 as a Church Planting Resident, and along with the leadership of Waypoint, Peter prayerfully sought God’s guidance on when and where and what kind of church that God was calling him to plant. God began to give Peter & Mary a burden for the east side of Durham, and the vision and calling to plant Eastpoint Church was born.
The name Eastpoint has three layers of meaning.
