Peter and Mary are childhood friends who became high-school sweethearts and have been married for 14 years. Peter studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and the University of Edinburgh (Th.M) with an emphasis on biblical preaching that connects with the heart and imagination. After pastoring in Boston for several years, Peter and Mary moved to Durham, NC for Mary’s healthcare in 2019, and God began to grow in them a burden to plant a church in the Triangle area. Having experienced firsthand the painful realities of living in a broken world, Peter and Mary’s heartbeat is to reach those disillusioned with God because of pain and suffering by pointing them to the hope of the gospel. The Freys have a huge heart for foster care and adoption, and they have two adorable boys – Elijah and Gabe.
